Everything we care about, every service that makes our City strong – schools, parks, libraries, police & fire protection, roads and transit – these all depend on sound financial planning behind the scenes. It’s not sexy, but it has to be done right.
Unlike some, I believe that government can improve people’s lives. Therefore, we must demonstrate that we can balance the budget and spend public dollars wisely. That is why I have decided to run for our city’s Board of Estimate and Taxation.
My progressive “people first” values and my experience with municipal finance are the right background for this job. We deserve openness, transparency, fairness and accountability. We must get the most value for our tax dollars.
